It is very very fizzy, it tastes alcoholic. Tastes like apple cider or wine. I'm pretty sure it is alcoholic. Used Chelsea Sugar ginger beer recipe, a new zealand thing. Is is supposed to be alcoholic? The goal was to make non-alcoholic ginger beer. Recipe will be put below. My question is, did I do something wrong?
Bug Warm water 2 tsp active dried yeast 2 tsp Chelsea Raw Sugar 2 tsp ground ginger
Ginger beer 3 cups Chelsea Raw Sugar 2 tsp cream of tartar 1L boiling water and 5L cold water Juice of 2 lemons, strained
Let the bug sit in a jar covered with a towel for 1 week, has been mixed and bottled, which sat for just over 2 weeks.

2022.01.21 04:29 Dolly-the-Sheep My successful manifestation stories :)

I didn't know about LOA until 2 years ago, but before that I've (almost) always got what I wanted, one way or another. I'm privileged to be born in a comfortable family, in an Asian country. I knew since I was a kid that I couldn't stand the politics and culture from my country, when I was 17 I passed the interview to come study in the US. It was a miracle that I passed because I didn't suck up to the interviewer (a US ambassador) and he kept giving me tough questions. I was very surprised at the end, and my life completely changed.
Without knowing anything about LOA, all I did was to think "damn that'd be nice if I have that". Sometimes it wasn't even a clear thought, just an intention that I want that thing, and then I didn't think about it anymore. Few examples:
•My coworker asked if I could be on call for her for an inventory count because she was assigned to a team that got to travel to Miami. I agreed to help, and also thought "oh man I hope I also got to travel to Miami for work". Guess who got assigned to that same team and travel to Miami 3 months later? Yes, me. •Compared to my coworker, I got to travel a lot more and to nice places. That's exactly what I wanted when I got this job. I even got to go Chicago on a weekend they had an air show, and my team even said "u got lucky because we normally travel to Chicago during winter and it was hell". •I didn't even know about my company while I was in college, but it was a reputable one that most accounting students want to get in. One time a friend of mine mentioned that she worked there, and I thought it would be awesome if I could get into that company cuz it's very competitive. I applied during my senior year, guess who got the full time offer before I graduated? Yes, me, and I was the only non-native person in my work class. •This is a silly one. I broke up with my ex because I realized we were not a good fit. He doesn't have a sense of humor, and he is not an alcoholic but he doesn't know when to stop and keep driving after drinking. I thought "my next bf has to have a sense of humor, and not a drinker". My current bf does not drink AT ALL (not cuz of me), and he makes jokes every single.hour to the point I'd wanna choke him. His jokes are funny tho so I let it slide. •I have a full time job, well-paid. But I told my bf last year that I wanted a side job that I could make like, $30/day so it's extra $900 a month. I didn't know what to do, but the idea came unexpectedly and now I made more than $900 with my side job. I really enjoy doing it too. •Smaller things like unexpected small checks, money, food, etc. happen often. One time I was thinking "oh man I'm craving for some bun" and my aunt texted me IMMEDIATELY after that while I was at work, saying "Hey I just bought some bun, I left it in the fridge for you" and she never bought bun since we started living together 😂
So there u go guys, I didn't see a lot of positive posts, so I figured I'd share some with you :) Don't worry I did not make any of this up, if anything, I even had more stories to tell. Keep ya head up!!
One thing I can say for sure is, do not dictate the "how". And sometimes what you wish for might not be the best thing for you, so maybe that's why you didn't get it. Be realistic, be kind, be clear with what you want and let it go.

2022.01.21 04:29 alwaysitchylena My sister is such a vegetarian...

Everytime we go to vegan restaurant she acts like an omni, scared to try dishes and thinks everything is shit. " all vegan fiod sucks" Then orders the dumbest thing and doesnt like it.
My mum and other sister are omni so i expect that from them, but my vegetarian sister is just such a vegetarian loves cheese. Hated the vegan pizza place we went because no cheese...
Doesnt want to wait 10 mins for the vegan restaurant, cause she thinks it will be shit.
Shes never really tried seitan or good mock meats, eats only an extremely flavoured packaged tofu, thinks tofu sucks otherwise, basically only eats eggs and dairy. Doesnt eat lentils or beans that much
Funnily enough me and my partner who isnt vegan, but we live together, so he eats with me 90% of the time, liked the restaurant. The kfc omnis and the vegetarian didnt like it 🙄🙄🙄
Idk why but my vegetarian sister annoys me more than my omni sister.

2022.01.21 04:29 model-harold GE5 [Rohe] Harold visits Ngā Hau E Whā national marae to make a speech

Kia Ora. Thank you all for the opportunity to talk about what really matters to Rohe, and to Māori across the country. This election is probably the first time we're not seeing a huge blowout lead for one candidate, and quite frankly, I'm grateful for that! It means there's a real choice, and that we in Alliance have to work all the harder to distinguish ourselves. And I'm happy to do that. I'm happy to put in the work to tell you what our policies are, and how they'll benefit Māori up and down New Zealand. Which leads me neatly to our first policy. I know that, in the past, it's felt like the only time politicians come around and talk with Māori community leaders is at election time. It's the only time to raise your concerns and have them truly heard. And even then, with how noncompetitive this race often is, many politicians have just put in a token effort, discarding all your feedback the moment they're back in Parliament. Not anymore. We plan to work constructively and collaboratively with Iwi and Hapū to create what we call the Three Spheres model of Government. The beating heart of this model is a Māori Congress, with full power to legislate on Māori affairs. While the Māori electorates were a good start, sending one person to Parliament just isn't enough. Whenever Alliance have held Rohe, our local MP has been a tireless advocate for Māori. But it's ultimately a Parliament for all of New Zealand, which is clogged up with the business of governing the entire country. Three Spheres delivers on the promise of Māori self-governance. Self-governance allows you to take full, dynamic control of your own destiny. Honestly, I don't think it's our job to paternalistically decide what Māori need and what Māori want. I believe it's our job to get out of the way, and let Māori chart their own course towards the future.

Now, we know that for many years Māori have faced systemic disadvantages across a range of areas. One of those areas is Education. That goes back to a whole range of factors, but money has always played a huge part. This term, we made a huge step towards making education equitable by forgiving all student debt. Māori students, who were staring down the barrel of huge repayments, are now free to look for the opportunities with their degree -- without being burdened with debt. We also abolished tuition fees for undergraduates, making it easier than ever to go to university. For younger children, school lunches are free, removing a massive burden from parents and kids alike. But in comes National. Superpacman04 promised to improve Māori education. Well, somebody better tell his party leader! Clearly he was left off that memo, because just last night we saw the National Party's leader step up and promise to return the debt. That's right. The National Party want to send the police knocking on your door, to hand your children a massive load of debt. Why? Because for all they harp on about their supposed economic prowess, National don't know how to manage this nation's finances. They can't find their own sources of revenue, so they're going to take billions of dollars from your children. And, if Pacman is elected, you can consider free tuition as good as gone. All our work to improve Māori access to education will be totally undone, and your children will be footing the bill for National's total financial incompetence. So, perhaps when Pacman talks about how he wants to "strengthen relations between police officers and tama," he means a very peculiar relation -- that of debt collector to indebted. But really, what can you expect from a party whose alternative budget promised to spend "XXX" dollars on infrastructure.

So that's the National Party approach. They don't have hold up a thin veneer of paternalism. No, they just come right out and tell you that they'll be coming after your kids to make up for their financial illiteracy. Hey, you've gotta give them points for honesty, at least! But the Alliance approach is one of partnership. As part of that, we intend to bring Māori into decision making across all levels of governance, but with a strong focus on regional and local level decision making. Part of that includes the establishment of a Māori Housing Authority. This will deliver papakāinga housing initiatives, because we know that housing inequality must end. Alliance will get as many Māori as possible into housing, and not just some drab, mass produced domiciles. Proper homes. Homes with character, informed by Māori wishes, because that's what partnership is about. We believe in listening, we believe in working, and we believe that, at the end of the day, you know what's best for you. Now, National have also promised to deliver on housing. If you elect me, I'll look forward to working with National on that, and I expect they'll vote for our housing package. But I have to ask, how do you know that they'll deliver it if it's up to them? After all, in their Alternative Budget, they promised significantly less for Housing than our budget delivered. And how can they expect to pay for it? They're up in Northland, promising to pour a bucket of money into new roads connecting the disparate parts of the country, and yet are so devoted to a surplus that they're juggling whatever vicious cuts they can to afford it. Maybe that's why they want to raid your kid's bank account so badly!

You just can't trust National to get it done. If they're coming for your kids, what's next? Where else will they try to rip money from? How many Māori have to pay up for the National Party's failures? Not to mention they're slugging Māori families with tax. If you earn up to $70,000 a year, the Alliance's budget has you paying a reasonable 20% tax rate. National want you to pay 25%. For all they bang on about our tax system being confusing, it's actually quite easy to understand. What's not easy to understand, however, is why they think hardworking families should be paying out the nose to fund National's obsession with roads. Let us also not forget that this is STILL the same National party as ran for Rohe in the last election, even if they've seemingly hired a better comms team this election. In fact, they are led by the clown who just 3 months ago campaigned to your faces on promises of ending all Maori governance. They are led by the man who actively denied the clear and long-standing obligations in Te Tiriti o Waitangi for Tino Rangatiratanga to all of your faces. Just because they've figured out that advertising Hobsons Pledge-esque policies in Rohe doesn't win them the seat, doesn't mean that they are any different at heart - all they care about is getting your vote, not representing you on the issues that matter on the values that matter to Maori. The National party has a long and consistent track record of failing Maori communities, and nothing of actual substance has changed. At the end of the day, the choice couldn't be starker. The National Party will bring financial chaos without any consultation with Māori. It's a show they put on each election and never deliver. Alliance, on the other hand, remains totally committed to delivering a consultative government that takes your needs into account.

Together, we can do this.

2022.01.21 04:29 senadraxx Weird Mazda battery problems?

So a friend of mine called me about a problem they were having with their Mazda 6. Long story short, it sounds like their battery was shot. Was able to get the car started and moved, fortunately.
But the car was having problems starting that day. The starter just wouldn't work sometimes, or just wouldn't make a sound when ignition was turned. When it finally wouldn't start, something weird happened when you put the key in the ignition that kinda had me scratching my head.
The door light kept flickering on, the speedometer started ticking up to the 120mph mark, and there was this weird ticking sound coming from the engine bay. This was with the key removed from the car, and went on for hours, which had me wondering if it was a deeper electrical problem.
I got the car jumped, ignition worked finally, got it moved. I'm thinking, because we got it started, jumped and moved, the alternator and starter must be fine. Maybe the battery's just dead, because it wouldn't start again after being turned off.
They think it'll be fine with just a new battery, but some of those other things I mentioned are really weird problems for just a battery imo. As far as I know, they don't have any other electrical issues, but I had an unfortunate encounter with a Ford focus that made me question electrical problems.
But what do you folks think? Think there's an electrical problem I should tell them to check on? And if so, what car part might be suspect?
